Change up your meatloaf routine with this spin on the classic family favorite. After all, who doesn’t love pizza!

Ingredients: Pizza Meatloaf
2 pounds ground beef, ground venison, ground bison or meatloaf mix
2 eggs
1 cup of pizza sauce
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
½ cup chopped onion, or 1 teaspoon dried onion
1 clove chopped garlic, or ½ teaspoon garlic powder
2 stale hamburger style rolls, chopped roughly, or 3 slices of stale bread
Optional toppings: shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese

Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- In a large bowl, mix all ingredients except the pizza sauce.
- Note on the bread: I use whatever stale bread I have in the house. If you don’t have bread, store bought bread crumbs can also be used.
- Begin mixing in the pizza sauce, you want to use enough to bring the pizza flavor, but not make the meatloaf too soupy. You can add another handful of breadcrumbs if you add too much pizza sauce.
- A moister meatloaf will hold together but has a tendency to spread out sideways. If you like a firmer meatloaf that stands up more, don’t add as much pizza sauce.
- Grab a loaf pan or a baking dish. Grease the pan if necessary, using cooking oil or butter.
- Push the meatloaf into the loaf pan or form a loaf shape in the baking dish.
- Pop the dish in the oven at 400°F, for 40 to 45 minutes. I check the internal temperature of a meatloaf using a meat thermometer. Cook to 175°F in the center of the meatloaf
- Remove from the oven. Let the meatloaf sit for a couple of minutes before cutting.
Slice and serve!
The cheese topping is optional. I always say yes to cheese.
This recipe is easily halved for a smaller family.
