Homemade Bruschetta

It may not be tomato season for your own garden, but you can still take this Homemade Bruschetta as an appetizer to a holiday meal or party! It’s super easy with only a handful of ingredients.

A tray of toasted french bread slices topped with a homemade tomato, basil, and garlic mixture, with melted mozzarella cheese.

Ingredients

1 French bread loaf

1-2 large tomatoes

1-2 tbsp olive oil

fresh basil

2 cloves minced garlic

salt

pepper

mozzarella cheese (shredded or fresh)

Directions

  1. Slice bread and toast in the oven.
  2. Dice the tomatoes.
  3. Chop basil and combine with tomatoes and garlic.
  4. Add a tablespoon or two of olive oil and toss.
  5. Spoon the mixture over the toasted bread.
  6. Top with mozzarella cheese and return to the oven to melt.
