Homemade Brown Sugar

March 20, 2023 by Michelle Fraser Leave a Comment

We all have pretty busy lives, and sometimes we realize we don’t have certain ingredients in the middle of cooking or baking. Brown sugar is really easy to make, though! It only takes two simple ingredients which you most likely already have stored. You can use homemade brown sugar immediately, or you can store it in an airtight container for up to a month.

A small bowl of homemade brown sugar.

Ingredients

  • Sugar
  • Molasses

Directions

Light Brown Sugar

Use 1 tablespoon of molasses for every 1 cup of sugar.

Dark Brown Sugar

Use 2 tablespoons of molasses for every 1 cup of sugar.

A spoonful of molasses drizzling into a small bowl.
